"Your adornment must not be merely external--with interweaving and elaborate knotting of the hair or wearing gold jewelry or being superficially preoccupied with dressing in expensive clothes; but let it be the inward adorning and beauty of the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible and unfading charm of a gentle and peaceful spirit, which is not anxious or wrought up but is very precious in the sight of God."(1 Pet.3:3-4)

What happens beneath the "surface" of our relationship with God is so important.

Our "root system" keeps us grounded and secure in Christ allowing us to be steadfast, immovable and anchored through anything that comes our way. The storms and tribulations WILL not MAY...but most definitely WILL come. The depth and strength of our roots allow us to stand....firmly planted in God!

We receive our sustenance and nourishment through our "roots" which flows upward and outward impacting our leaves and fruit. What we feed our roots will eventually manifest through our fruit. Through an INTENTIONAL commitment to prayer, reading the word of God, hearing and listening to Him through our obedience and loving others, our roots are strengthened and mature rapidly!

A healthy tree is not healthy because of its is healthy and productive because of what has been INVESTED in its roots!!
