THE DAY MY FRUIT SPOKE!

When God told me to be fruitful and multiply, He didn’t start with my future, He took me back to my childhood.
He reminded me of a season when I was carrying a lot as a kid. Things I didn’t share with anyone. I managed it alone through writing, crying, and praying with God. I learned how to survive quietly.
One morning, I took my youngest brother to the bus stop. While we were waiting, I looked down at him and noticed his face. It was scrunched up, mad, sad, and angry all at once.
I asked him, “What’s wrong?”
He said, “Nothing.”
I pressed again and said, “Are you sure? Because the way you look, it seems like you’re upset or angry or sad.”
And he said something I never forgot. He said,
“I’m fine. I’m just trying to look like you.”
In that moment, God opened my eyes. I realized that fruit multiplies whether we mean for it to or not. I wasn’t just carrying pain, I was modeling it. My silence had a witness. My heaviness was being mirrored.
That’s when I made a decision. Not to pretend everything was okay, but to be more aware of what I was passing on. I decided to smile more, not because life was perfect, but because I understood that what’s in us doesn’t stay with us—it spreads.
Years later, God brought that memory back and connected it to the fruit of the Spirit. He showed me that fruit is never just personal, it’s generational. Someone is always eating from the tree of your life.
There was a season when my fruit came from survival and pain. But God didn’t reveal that to shame me. He revealed it to heal me.
Now He’s teaching me to be fruitful from a different root. Not from wounds, but from wholeness. Not from coping, but from abiding in Him.
I’ve learned that when God heals the root (heart), He changes the fruit. And when the fruit changes, what multiplies changes too.
It was a journey of seeing how the fruit of my life impacts others, and how the true measure of being fruitful is not just what I think I am, but how I reflect Him.

Sister Ruth, That was so beautiful, so relatable, so well written and needed. Thank you.❤️🙏🏽🌹
Prays God! Sister Ruth, this is definitely eye opening and a teaching moment for me. God be Glorified! And may he continue to bless your fruit. 😔💪🏽❤️
